Renva Harmon Watterson to Lead Georgia Highlands College

Georgia Highlands College in Rome has announced the appointment of Renva Harmon Watterson as interim president of the institution. Since 2006, Dr. Watterson has been vice president for academic and student affairs at the college, which enrolls about 5,200 students. Women make up about 62 percent of the student body.
From 1999 to 2006, Dr. Watterson was dean of the School of Liberal Arts at Shorter College in Rome. Previously, she was a faculty member and administrator at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
A graduate of Shorter College, Dr. Watterson holds a master’s degree and an educational doctorate from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
