Eve Marder, the Victor and Gwendolyn Beinfield Professor of Neuroscience at Brandeis University, recently received two awards related to the field of neuroscience. Dr. Marder was awarded the George A. Miller Prize from the Cognitive Neuroscience Society. She also was recognized with the Karl Spencer Lashley Award in Neuroscience by the American Philosophical Society.
Professor Marder focuses her research on the brains of lobsters and crabs. She examines underlying differences in brains from one animal to another. Her work has implications for the study of human disorders such as epilepsy and seizures.
Dr. Marder is a graduate of Brandeis University and holds a Ph.D. from the University of California at San Diego.
