College and Universities Announce the Appointments of Five Women to Administrative Positions

Donna Wrublewski was appointed director of research services for the libraries of the California Institute of Technology. For most of 2020, Dr. Wrublewski has served as chemistry and chemical engineering librarian, interim humanities librarian, and interim head of research services. She joined the library staff at Caltech in 2013 after serving as an assistant university librarian at the University of Florida.

Dr. Wrublewski is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she majored in chemical engineering. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in polymer science and engineering from the Univerity of Massachusetts Amherst.

Laquitha Bonds has been named vice president of human resources at Milwaukee Area Technical College. For the past nine years, Bonds was director of talent operations at Waukesha County Technical College in Wisconsin.

Bonds holds a bachelor’s degree in management and communications from Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin, and a master’s degree in management from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee.

Ellen Fisher was appointed vice president of research at the University of New Mexico, effective February 22. Dr. Fisher has been serving as the assistant vice president for strategic initiatives in the Office of the Vice President for Research at Colorado State University.

Dr. Fisher received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and mathematics from Texas Lutheran University. She holds a Ph.D. in physical-analytical chemistry from the University of Utah.

Jana Blick is the new interim senior director of the Office of Contract and Grant Accounting at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She has been serving as assistant controller for the university. She joined the staff at the university nine years ago.

A certified public accountant, Blick earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA from Middle Tennessee State University.

Rebecca Armstrong-English has been named the director of the Office of Alumni Relations at Dillard University in New Orleans. Most recently, Armstrong-English was the founding director of operations at a new middle school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Armstrong-English graduated from Dillard University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication.
