Emine Fetvaci was appointed to the Norma Jean Calderwood University Professorship in Islamic and Asian Art at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Dr. Fetvaci has been serving as associate chair and an associate professor of Islamic art in the department of history of art and architecture at Boston University. Her latest book is The Album of the World Emperor: Cross-Cultural Collecting and the Art of Album-Making in Seventeenth-Century Istanbul (Princeton University Press, 2020).
Dr. Fetvaci is a graduate of Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and earned a doctoral degree at Harvard Univerity.
Tanja Kral has been named the Ellen and Robert Kapito Endowed Professor in Nursing Science at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kral is a professor of nutrition science and associate program director of the Graduate Nutrition Certificate, with a secondary appointment as a professor in the department of psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine. She is a nutrition scientist with training in the study of human ingestive behavior.
Professor Kral is a graduate of the University of Applied Sciences in Münster, Germany. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University.
Amanda Bayer was appointed to the Franklin and Betty Barr Chair in Economics at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. She teaches courses in advanced microeconomic theory, game theory, introduction to economics, and race, ethnicity, and gender in economics. Professor Bayer joined the faculty at Swarthmore College in 1992.
Dr. Bayer is a graduate of Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, where she double majored in psychology and economics. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in economics at Yale University.
Dr. Weir is a senior lecturer of global affairs at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs. She was recently named the inaugural executive director of the Jackson School's new Center for Peace and the Global Good, a hub for scholars and students working to address challenges in human rights and global health.
