Natalia Castro PicoÌn is a new assistant professor of Spanish and Portuguese at Princeton University in New Jersey. She specializes in modern peninsular/Spanish culture. She has been serving as an instructor at the City University of New York.
Dr. PicoÌn is a graduate of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in Spain. She holds a master’s degree from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid-Santillana and a Ph.D. from the Graduate Center of the City of New York.
Kathleen Feeley, a professor of history at the University of Redlands in California, was given the added duties of associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the university. Dr. Feeley, who joined the faculty in 2004, also serves as the director of the university’s Proudian Interdisciplinary Honors Program.
Professor Feeley is a graduate of Colgate University in Hamilton, New York, where she majored in history and women’s studies. She earned a Ph.D. in American history from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.
Karsonya Whitehead, a professor of communications and African American studies at Loyola University of Maryland, will serve as the inaugural director of the university’s Karson Institute for Race, Peace & Social Justice. She joined the faculty at the university in 2009.
Professor Whitehead is a graduate of Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, where she majored in history. She holds a master’s degree in international peace studies from the University of Notre Dame and a Ph.D. in language literature and culture from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
Morgan Pfieffer is a new assistant professor of animal and food sciences at Oklahoma State University. She was the marketing manager for the American Meat Sciences Association.
Dr. Pfieffer holds a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree in animal science and meat science, and a Ph.D. in meat science, all from Oklahoma State University.
Rhamin Ligon, a clinical assistant professor of emergency medicine at the University of Maryland, was named executive director of the Maryland Emergency Medicine Network. She has been on the faculty at the university’s School of Medicine since 1994.
Dr. Rigon earned her medical degree at Howard University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C.
