Women Make Up a Clear Majority of Admitted Students at Three Top Schools

Last week, WIAReport published data on the gender breakdown of admitted students at several of the nation’s leading colleges and universities. Since that report, additional data has become available.
• At Pomona College in California, 491 women were admitted compared to 465 men. Thus, women were 51.3 percent of all students admitted.
• At the University of Southern California, 4,375 women were admitted for the Class of 2016. The number of admitted men was 3,983. Women were 52.3 percent of all admitted students.
• At Emory University in Atlanta, women make up 59 percent of all admitted students for the Class of 2016.
