Jewell Cherry was appointed vice president for student services at Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She has been serving in the position on an interim basis.
Cherry holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Winthrop University. She is completing work on a doctorate in educational leadership.
Beth Keyes has been promoted to vice president for facilities management at the University of Dayton. A 21-year university employee, Keyes was most recently the assistant vice president for facilities management. In her new position, she will supervise 112 employees.
Keyes holds a bachelor’s degree in design from the University of Cincinnati.
Jane McBride Gates was appointed provost and vice president for academic affairs at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury. She will begin her new assignment on July 18. Currently, she is dean of the School of the College of Liberal Arts at Savannah State University in Georgia.
Dr. Gates is a graduate of Arkansas State University. She holds a master of public administration degree from the University of Arkansas and a Ph.D. in political science from Southern Illinois University.
Sara C. Pryor was named associate vice provost for faculty and academic affairs at Indiana University in Bloomington. Her appointment becomes official on July 1. Currently, she is the Provost Professor of Atmospheric Science in the university’s department of geography.
Dr. Pryor holds a bachelor’s degree and a Ph.D. in environmental science from the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom.
