Janet Eber Honored for a Lifetime of Service by the American Association of Community Colleges

Janet Eber, a professor of English and chair of the department of English and philosophy at the County College of Morris in New Jersey, has been selected to receive the Dale P. Parnell Distinguished Faculty Award from the American Association of Community Colleges. The Dale P. Parnell award, named in honor of a former AACC president, recognizes professors for their passion for students and the classroom, willingness to support students inside and outside of the classroom, participation in college committees and the life of their college and service that exceeds what is required to ensure students are successful.

Dr. Eber has been a member of the faculty at the County College of Morris for more than half a century. She will be presented with the award at the association’s annual conference on March 30.

“I desperately wanted to be a teacher and have such a great love for my discipline. I am so fortunate to be part of this community,” said Dr. Eber. “Receiving this award is such an honor. I’m gratified beyond measure.”

Dr. Eber is a graduate of Upsula College, which has since closed. She holds a master’s degree from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey, and a Ph.D. from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey.
