Karen Tani was named the Seaman Family University Professor, with faculty appointments in the Carey Law School and in the department of history at the University of Pennsylvania. She will also hold the title of a Penn Integrates Knowledge University Professor. Professor Tani is currently a professor of law at the University of California, Berkeley, where she has taught since 2011. She is the author of States of Dependency: Welfare, Rights, and American Governance, 1935-1972 (Cambridge University Press, 2016).
Dr. Tani is a graduate of Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. She was the inaugural graduate of the J.D./Ph.D. Program in American Legal History at the University of Pennsylvania.
Linda Dusman has been named to the Bearman Foundation Chair in Entrepreneurship at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She is a professor and chair of the department of music at the university. Dr. Dusman is the former holder of the Jeppeson Chair in Music at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. She is the founding editor of I Resound Press, a digital archive for music by women composers.
