Four Women Assuming New Administrative Roles in Higher Education

Jane D. Parker was appointed vice president for development at Auburn University in Alabama. She has been serving as executive vice president and managing director of development at Arizona State University. Previously, she was a development officer at Emory University for 30 years.

Auburn is planning to launch a $1 billion fundraising campaign.

Jamie Simpson was named director of Accessibility and Americans With Disabilities Act Education at the University of Kansas. Since 2007, she has been the disability program coordinator at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Kansas School of Nursing.

Simpson holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Kansas.

Colette Erickson is the new director of human resources and payroll at North Dakota State University. She has served as interim director since June 2010. She has been on the staff at NDSU since 1995.

Erickson is a graduate of the University of North Dakota, where she majored in music education. She holds a master’s degree in administration from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant.

Shanda Lewis Cargile was named equal employment opportunity and affirmative action officer at Jackson State University in Mississippi. She has 14 years of experience as an attorney specializing in commercial litigation, personal injury, and family law.

Cargile is a graduate of Dillard University in New Orleans and the University of Mississippi School of Law.
