Leslie Kane is the new vice president for human resources at Alvernia University in Reading, Pennsylvania. Before the new appointment, Kane served as a human resources consultant in Philadelphia.
Kane is a graduate of the University of Delaware, where she majored in business administration. She earned a post-baccalaureate certificate of professional studies in human resources from Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.
Brandi Stone was appointed director of African American student services at the University of New Mexico. Stone has been serving in the role on an interim basis and has been on the staff for seven years. She will continue to serve as a special advisor to the president.
Stone holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master of public administration degree from the University of New Mexico.
Tanya Jachimiak was named associate vice president of the Office for Civil Rights and Title IX Education and Compliance at Michigan State University, effective February 3. Most recently, she was the Title IX and Section 504 coordinator at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Earlier, Jachimiak served in a similar capacity as the Title IX coordinator and executive associate director of the Office for Access and Equity at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Jachimiak earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a law degree from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago.
Michelle Elias Bloomer is the new associate dean for undergraduate programs at Woods College of Advancing Studies of Boston College. She was the director of the Division of Profesional Studies at Bunker Hill Community College in Boston.
Elias Bloomer holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston College and a juris doctorate from Suffolk University Law School in Boston. She is pursuing a doctoral degree in higher education at Boston College.
Kelly Fox was appointed executive vice president for administration and finance at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. She joins Georgia Tech from the University of Colorado Boulder, where she served as executive vice chancellor and chief operating officer. Earlier in her career, Fox served as vice president and chief financial officer for the four-campus University of Colorado System.
Fox is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and holds a master of public administration degree from the University of Colorado at Denver.
Janet Carraway was promoted to executive director of finance for the Mississippi State University Foundation. In this role she will also serve as chief financial officer of the MSU Foundation’s board of directors. She had been serving as director of finance and budget at the foundation.
Carraway first joined the staff at the foundation in 1992. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accountancy from Mississippi State University.
Jenna Hee-Jung Friedman was appointed assistant director in the office of the dean of students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She will be in charge of the university’s bias response efforts. Friedman most recently served as an assistant faculty specialist in the Office of Gender Equity at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Friedman earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Hawaii and her law degree at Temple University in Philadelphia.
Jamie Gayer has been promoted to assistant vice president for business services with Indiana University Capital Planning and Facilities. Since 2017, Gayer had served as director of human resource services for Capital Planning and Facilities. From 2012 to 2017, she was manager of human resource services.
Gayer is a graduate of Southern Illinois University and is pursuing a master’s degree in public affairs.
