Three Women Scholars Appointed to Dean Positions at Major Universities

Janelle Chiasera has been appointed dean of the School of Health Sciences at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. She is the former senior executive associate dean for the School of Health Professions at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Dr. Chiasera is a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio. She earned a master’s degree in allied health education and a Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy from Ohio State Univerity.

Rose Marie Ward appointed interim dean of the Graduate School at Miami University in Ohio. She will also hold the title as interim associate provost. Dr. Ward is a professor in the department of kinesiology and health and since 2017 has been serving as associate dean of the graduate studies.

Dr. Ward is a graduate of Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in experimental psychology at the University of Rhode Island.

Shannon Collier-Tenison has been named interim dean of the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She is an associate professor of social work at the university and has been serving as associate dean.

Dr. Colliear-Tenison graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in social work from Washington University in St. Louis.
