Northwestern Professor Named to Treasury Department Post

Janice C. Eberly, the John L. and Helen Kellogg Professor of Finance at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, was nominated by President Obama to serve as assistant secretary for economic policy at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Her nomination must be approved by the Senate.
Professor Eberly, who has been on the faculty at Northwestern since 1998, was the valedictorian of her class at the University of California at Davis. She earned a Ph.D. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She has served on the staff of the White House’s Council of Economic Advisers and on the advisory panel to the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Economic Analysis. Since April 2010, she has served on the Congressional Budget Office’s Panel of Economic Advisers.
