Christina Drale Is the New Leader of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock

Christina Drale was named acting chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Dr. Drale has served as interim executive vice chancellor and provost of the campus since October 2018. She will serve as acting chancellor while the university system makes plans for going forward.

Donald R. Bobbitt, president of the University of Arkansas System, stated that “Dr. Drale has shown to be a very capable leader and I am grateful to her for stepping up to serve UA Little Rock as acting chancellor. She has my full confidence and support as we work through a long-term plan for the institution.”

Before being named interim provost, Dr. Drale was associate vice chancellor for faculty relations and administration. Dr. Drale has served in administrative roles at the university since 2006, first as associate dean of the College of Professional Studies.

Dr. Drale holds a bachelor’s degree in communication, a master’s degree in sociology and a Ph.D. in sociology, all from the University of California, San Diego.
