Chief Information Office at Rice University Honored by the Nonprofit Internet2

Klara Jelinkova, vice president for international operations and information technology and chief information officer at Rice University, has received the President’s Leadership Award from Internet2, an advanced technology nonprofit organization. She was recognized for “exceptional leadership and service and enabling services and achievements beyond the scope of individual institutions that benefit the research and education communities.”

Founded in 1996, Internet2 delivers technology solutions that leverage, integrate and amplify the strengths of its members, which include universities, government agencies and regional and state education networks that support educational, research and community service missions.

Jelinkova joined Rice University in January 2015. Prior to coming to Rice, Klara was senior associate vice president and chief information technology officer at the University of Chicago. From 2006 to 2010, Jelinkova served as the assistant vice president of shared services and infrastructure at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Earlier, she served on the staff for 10 years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Jelinkova earned bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin–Madison.
