The University of Nebraska has announced the names of four finalists for dean of the university’s Cooperative Extension Division and director of the Nebraska Cooperative Extension Service.
The four candidates will all visit the Lincoln campus in March. Two of the four candidates are women.
Susan Williams is district director of the University of Nebraska’s Southeast Research and Extension Center. She has held this post since 2001.
Dr. Williams holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Kansas State University and a doctorate in human sciences from the University of Nebraska.
Deborah Sheely is assistant director of the Institute of Food Production and Sustainability at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. She has been employed by the USDA since 1997.
Dr. Sheely is a graduate of the University of Missouri at Columbia. She earned a Ph.D. in plant biology from Rutgers University in New Jersey.
