A Quartet of Women Scholars Who Have Been Appointed to Endowed Chairs at Major Universities

Rachael DeLue has been named the Christopher Binyon Sarofim ’86 Professor in American Art at Princeton University in New Jersey. She currently serves on the executive committee for the American studies program and is affiliated faculty in the program of media and modernity.

Dr. DeLue holds a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University.

Jill Harsin has been named the Thomas A. Bartlett Chair and Professor of History at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. She has been a Colgate faculty member since 1982.

Dr. Harsin holds a bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University and a master’s degree and Ph.D. both from the University of Iowa.

Kristin Parent has been named the first James K. Billman Jr., M.C. Endowed Research Professor in the department of biochemistry and molecular biology in the College of Natural Science at Michigan State University. Before joining the university’s faculty as an assistant professor, Dr. Parent was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, San Diego.

Dr. Parent holds a bachelor’s degree and Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut in Storrs.

Natalie Diaz has been named to the Maxine and Jonathan Marshall Chair in Modern and Contemporary Poetry at Arizona State University. She teaches in the department of English’s creative writing program.

Diaz holds a master of fine arts degree in poetry and fiction from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
