Gena Glickman Chosen to be the First Woman President of Massasoit Community College in Massachusetts

The board of trustees of Massasoit Community College in Brockton, Massachusetts, has selected Gena Glickman to serve as the college’s sixth president. When she takes office, Dr. Glickman will be the first woman to serve as president of the college.

Massasoit Community College, about 25 miles south of Boston, enrolls early 7,500 students. Women make up 56 percent of the student body.

For the past decade, Dr. Glickman has served as president of Manchester Community College in Connecticut. Previously, she was vice president for teaching, learning, and student development at Elgin Community College in Illinois. Earlier in her career, Dr. Glickman was associate provost at the University of Baltimore and dean of the Maryland College of Art and Design.

Dr. Glickman holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art, a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Education, and a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park.
