Two Women Engineering Scholars Appointed to Endowed Professorships

Sez Atamturktur was appointed the Harry and Arlene Schell Professor and chair of the department of architectural engineering at Pennsylvania State University. She has been serving as a provost’s distinguished professor and professor of environmental engineering and earth science, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, and civil engineering at Clemson University in South Carolina.
Dr. Atamturktur is a graduate of Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. She holds a master’s degree in architectural engineering and a Ph.D. in civil engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
Linsey Marr was named the Charles P. Lunsford Professor in Engineering at Virginia Tech. She is a professor of civil and environmental engineering at the university. She has been on the faculty at the university for 14 years.
Professor Marris a graduate of Harvard University and holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
