Marilyn Laufer, director of the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art at Auburn University in Alabama, announced that she will retire on June 1. She has been on the staff at the museum for 12 years and has been employed at the university for 22 years.
Dr. Laufer is a graduate of Rutgers University in New Jersey, where she majored in English. She holds a Ph.D. in the history of art from Washington University in St. Louis.
Jean E. Shedd, associate provost for budget, facilities, and analysis at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, will retire at the conclusion of the academic year. She has been in her current post for 19 years and has served on the university’s staff for 42 years.
Shedd came to Northwestern in 1976 as a business administrator in the department of physics and astronomy. She later served as associate dean for business and finance in the Medill School of Journalism.
Dr. Batten will become interim president of Horry-Georgetown Technical College on August 1. She most recently served as the two-year college's vice president for student affairs.
Dr. Kahanov became the twentieth president of Notre Dame de Namur University in California on July 1. She previously served as provost at Alvernia University in Pennsylvania, Stockton University in New Jersey, and SUNY Oneonta.
Most recently, Dr. Sanders served as vice president of experiential product management and interim vice president of product and technology at Western Governors University.
Dr. Allmendinger began her tenure as the sixth president of Delta College in Michigan on June 29. Prior to her new role, she spent three years as vice president of student affairs at Southeastern Community College in Iowa.
