Jonathan Holloway, provost at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, has announced a series of new appointments in the Office of the Provost. Women were appointed to three of these positions.
Lindsay Chase-Lansdale was promoted to vice provost for academics. She has been serving as associate provost for faculty. Dr. Chase-Lansdale also serves as the Frances Willard Professor of Human Development and Social Policy in the university’s Institute for Policy Research. She joined the faculty at the university in 1999. Professor Chase-Lansdale is a graduate of Harvard University, where she majored in social relations. She holds a Ph.D. in developmental psychology form the University of Michigan.
Andrea Bueschel is the inaugural associate provost for strategy and policy. She was the assistant provost for faculty. Before joining the provost’s office in 2016, Dr. Bueschel served as associate vice president at the Spencer Foundation. She was also a lecturer in Northwestern’s School of Education and Social Policy. Dr. Bueschel holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, and master’s degrees in higher education and sociology and a Ph.D. in education policy from Stanford University.
Mariana Kepka was appointed associate vice president for change management. She was assistant provost for academic initiatives and the senior director in the Office of Change Management. Kepka joined the Office of the Provost in August 2008 after working for a higher education consulting company. She is a graduate of the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and holds a master’s degree in higher education administration from Northwestern University.
