Carolyn Dever, provost and chief academic officer at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, announced that she will step next month and return full-time to teaching as a professor of English. Before coming to Dartmouth in 2014, Dr. Dever was dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Dever’s research is focused on Victorian literature and gender studies. She is a graduate of Boston College and holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in English literature and language from Harvard University.
Gloriana Waters, vice chancellor for human resource management at the City University of New York, announced that she will retire in November. She has worked at the university for the past 37 years, including 10 years in her current post.
Waters is a graduate of SUNY-Cortland, and earned a master’s degree in educational psychology from Teachers College at Columbia University. She holds an MPA in higher education administration from Baruch College of the City University of New York.
Deborah Cook, Verizon Professor of Business Information Technologies in the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech, has retired and been granted emerita status. She has been a member of the Virginia Tech campus community since 1993.
Professor Cook holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Virginia Tech. She earned a Ph.D. at Texas A&M University.
