Tara T. Green was named the Linda Carlisle Excellence Professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She joined the faculty at the university in 2008. She is the author or editor of several books including From the Plantation to the Prison: African American Confinement Literature (Mercer University Press, 2008).
Professor Green is a graduate of Dillard University in New Orleans, where she majored in English. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in English with an emphasis on African American literature from Louisiana State University.
Susan Dackerman was named the John and Jill Freidenrich Director of the Cantor Arts Center on the campus of Stanford University in California. She has been serving as a Getty Scholar and consortium professor at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles. From 2005 to 2015, Dr. Dackerman was the Carl A. Weyerhauser Curator of Prints at the Harvard Art Museums.
Dr. Dackerman is a graduate of Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where she majored in art history. She holds a Ph.D. in the history of art from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania.
Valerie J. Matsumoto now holds the George and Sakaye Aratani Endowed Chair on the Japanese American Incarceration, Redress, and Community at the University of California, Los Angeles. She is the first Asian American woman to gain tenure in the university’s history department. Professor Matsumoto is the author of Farming the Home Place: A Japanese American Community in California 1919-1982 (Cornell University Press, 1994).
Dr. Matsumoto is a graduate of Arizona State University. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in history from Stanford University.
Sharon Hammes-Schiffer is the inaugural John Gamble Kirkwood Professor of Chemistry at Yale University. She was the Swanlund Professor of Chemistry at the University of Illinois. Professor Hammes-Schiffer is the editor in chief of Chemical Reviews and the co-author of the textbook Physical Chemistry for the Biological Sciences (Wiley, 2015).
Professor Hammes-Schiffer is a graduate of Princeton University in New Jersey. She holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University in California.
