Three Full Professors Are Stepping Down From Their Teaching Positions

Helen M. Whall has retired from her post as professor of English at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. Her research and teaching focused on Shakespeare, medieval studies, and Renaissance studies.

Professor Whall is a graduate of Emmanuel College in Boston. She holds a Ph.D. in English literature from Yale University.

Lynda Moore, a professor at the School of Management at Simmons College in Boston, has retired. Professor Moore originally joined the faculty at Simmons College in 1981. She is credited with developing the first management undergraduate course in women and leadership in the United States.

Dr. Moore is a graduate of Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia. She holds a master’s degree from Antioch Graduate School and an educational doctorate from the University of Massachusetts.

Sherri Burr, Regents Professor at the University of New Mexico School of Law, is retiring. She has taught at the law school since 1988. Professor Burr was the first African American woman to be granted tenure and the first African American women to be promoted to full professor at the University of New Mexico.

Professor Burr is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts, where she majored in politics. She holds a master’s degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, and a juris doctorate from Yale Law School.

Jennie Sanders to Lead Academic Affairs at Purdue Global

Most recently, Dr. Sanders served as vice president of experiential product management and interim vice president of product and technology at Western Governors University.
