Rebecca Wyke Appointed President of the University of Maine at Augusta

The board of trustees of the University of Maine System has named Rebecca Wyke as the next president of the University of Maine at Augusta. The Augusta campus enrolls about 4,700 undergraduate students. Women make up 72 percent of the student body.
Since 2008, Dr. Wyke has been serving as vice chancellor for finance and administration for the University of Maine System. She had served as interim president of the Augusta campus for six months in 2015. Prior to joining the University of Maine System, Dr. Wyke was the commissioner of the Department of Administration and Finance for the state of Maine.
Dr. Wyke holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master of public administration degree from the University of Maine, in Orono. She earned a doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania.
