In Memoriam: Donna J. Webb, 1967-2017

Donna J. Webb, professor of biological sciences and professor of cancer biology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, died on May 15. She was 50 years old.
Professor Webb joined the faculty at Vanderbilt University in 2005 and conducted research on cell motility and its role in cancer metastasis. At Vanderbilt, she was the director of graduate studies in biological sciences and was a member of the steering committee for the Fisk-Vanderbilt Master’s to Ph.D. Bridge Program. She published more than 80 peer-reviewed articles.
Dr. Webb was a graduate of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry and was postdoctoral fellow and a research assistant professor at the University of Virginia before joining the Vanderbilt University faculty.
