Sarah Waters was appointed director of student housing at the University of Kansas. She has been serving as director of residence life at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. She has held that post since 2010.

Laurie E. Locascio was named vice president for research at the University of Maryland, College Park, effective October 1. For the past 30 years, Dr. Locascio has worked for the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Most recently, she was associate director for laboratory programs.
Dr. Locascio is a graduate of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where she majored in chemistry. She holds a master’s degree in bioengineering from the University of Utah and a Ph.D. in toxicology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
Melissa Z.Y Woo was promoted to senior vice president for information technology and chief information officer at Stony Brook University of the State University of New York System. She joined the IT staff at the university in April 2016. Earlier, Dr. Woo was vice provost for information services and chief information officer at the University of Oregon.
Dr. Woo is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where she majored in biophysics. She holds a Ph.D. in biophysics from the University of Illinois.
Belinda Hardy was appointed director of the Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Since 1996, she has been chief of social work at the center.
