Patricia D. Suplee, an associate professor in the School of Nursing at Rutgers University in Camden, New Jersey, received the 2017 Suzanne Feetham Nurse Scientist Family Research Award from the Eastern Nursing Research Society. She has been on the faculty at the nursing school since 2009. Dr. Suplee is the co-editor of the textbook Handbook of Clinical Teaching in Nursing and Health Sciences (Jones and Bartlett, 2010).
Dr. Suplee is a graduate of Indiana University. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
Johnnetta B. Cole, the former president of Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina, was recognized by having a dormitory named in her honor on the college’s campus. The Johnnetta Betch Cole Honors Hall will be reserved for students with at least a 3.0 grade point average.

In 2009, Dr. Cole was named director of the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art in Washington, D.C. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in anthropology from Northwestern University.
Jennifer Pazour, an assistant professor of industrial and systems engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, has been selected to receive the Dr. Hamed K. Eldin Outstanding Early Career IE in Academic Award from the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers. Dr. Pazour is an expert in logistics. She joined the faculty at RPI in 2015 after teaching at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.
Dr. Pazour is a graduate of the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, where she majored in industrial engineering. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas.
