Women Accepted for Admission at High-Ranking Colleges and Universities

Recently, the nation’s highest-ranked colleges and universities informed applicants if they had been accepted for admission into the Class of 2021. Some of these institutions have become extremely selective, accepting between 5 and 10 percent of all applicants. Some of the nation’s most selective institutions provided acceptance data broken down by gender.

At Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore acceptance letters were sent to 2,542 students for the Class of 2021. Some 54 percent of all students admitted are women.

Pomona College, the highly rated liberal arts educational institution in Claremont, California, received a record 9,046 applications this year. Only 741 students were accepted for admission. Of these 53 percent are women.

Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, received 8,593 applications for the Class of 2021 and 1,253 students were admitted. Some 573 of the students admitted identify as women. This is 45.7 percent of all admitted students.

Princeton University in New Jersey had the largest number of applicants in the university’s history. Of the students offered admission, 50.5 percent are women.

Harvard University received a record 39,506 applications for membership in the Class of 2021. Of these, 2,056 were offered admission. Of the admitted students, women are 49.2 percent of the total.
