New Mexico State University has announced a field of three finalists for president of the university’s Grants campus. The two-year college enrolls about 800 students. Women make up 67 percent of the student body. All three candidates will be visiting the Grants campus by mid-March for a series of interviews, meetings with members of the campus community, and open forums. Two of the three finalists are women.
Cathie Cline is the associate vice president for general studies at East Arkansas Community College in Forrest City. Dr. Cline is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she majored in English language and literature. She holds a master’s degree in English literature from Arkansas State University and an educational doctorate from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Karla Volpi is vice president for administrative services and finance at Tohono O’odham Community College in Sells, Arizona. She is a summa cum laude graduate of West Chester University in Pennsylvania. She is a doctoral candidate at Grand Canyon University.
