
Dr. Lyman has served as the university’s chief academic officer since 2008. She will serve as interim president while a national search is conducted for a permanent president. The search will begin later this year.
Before joining the staff at Shippensburg University, Dr. Lyman was associate vice president for academic affairs at the University of West Florida in Pensacola. Earlier in her career, Dr. Lyman was associate graduate dean and a department chair at Texas State University-San Marcos.
Dr. Lyman is a graduate of Anna Maria College in Paxton, Massachusetts. She holds a master’s degree in English and American literature from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, and a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
