Educator Is the Inaugural Winner of an Award Named in Her Honor

Christine StanleyChristine A. Stanley is the vice president and associate provost for diversity and professor of higher education administration in the College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University. The Professional and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education has created the Christine A. Stanley Award for Diversity and Inclusion in Educational Development. Dr. Stanley is also the inaugural recipient of the award that has been named in her honor.

A native of Jamaica, Dr. Stanley is a graduate of Prairie View A&M University in Texas. She holds a master’s degree in zoology and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Texas A&M University. She is the editor of Faculty of Color: Teaching in Predominantly White Colleges and Universities (Anker Publishing, 2006).
