Lucinda Barnes the chief curator and director of programs for the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive of the University of California, Berkeley, will retire on June 29. She joined the staff at the museum in 2001. Earlier, she was the executive director of the Boise Art Museum in Idaho.
Earlier in her career, Barnes held curator positions at the art museums at Oberlin College in Ohio and California State University, Long Beach.
Catherine Nye has retired from her post as an associate professor of social work at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. Her research is focused on cross-cultural clinical practice and she has conducted field work in Southeast Asia and Cyprus.
Dr. Nye is a graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont, where she double majored in anthropology and psychology. She holds a master of social work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Chicago.
DeborahTapler is retiring and was named professor emerita in the College of Nursing at Texas Women’s University in Dallas. She taught courses in pharmacology.
Dr. Tapler is a graduate of the University of Texas at Galveston. She earned a master’s degree in nursing at the University of Texas at Austin and a Ph.D. at Texas Woman’s University.
Dr. Dotson spent six years as president of Yuba College in California. Earlier, she served eight years as a senior administrator with Clover Park Technical College in Washington.
Dr. Shah is the Ursula Geller Distinguished Professor of Research in Cardiovascular Diseases and associate dean for translational research at the Duke University School of Medicine. She will serve as president-elect of the American Heart Association in 2026–2027, followed by a one-year term as president in 2027–2028.
Dr. Batten will become interim president of Horry-Georgetown Technical College on August 1. She most recently served as the two-year college's vice president for student affairs.
Dr. Kahanov became the twentieth president of Notre Dame de Namur University in California on July 1. She previously served as provost at Alvernia University in Pennsylvania, Stockton University in New Jersey, and SUNY Oneonta.
Most recently, Dr. Sanders served as vice president of experiential product management and interim vice president of product and technology at Western Governors University.
