Gladys Keeton was named professor emerita of dance at Texas Woman’s University. Professor Keeton joined the TWU faculty in 1969 after teaching at Memphis State University and the University of Tennessee-Martin. She is founder, artistic director and a performer with the TWU International Dance Company.
Professor Keeton holds bachelor’s and graduate degrees from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
Marilyn Rhie, the Jessie Wells Post Professor of Art and professor of East Asian studies at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, has retired. She is the co-author of Wisdom and Compassion, the Sacred Art of Tibet (Harry M. Abrams, 2000).
Professor Rhie earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. at the University of Chicago.
Bonnie S. Slovis, professor of medicine at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, is retiring and has been granted emerita status. She joined the faculty at Vanderbilt in 1996 and a year later was named the inaugural director of outpatient pulmonary medicine.
Dr. Slovis is a graduate of Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. She holds master’s degrees from Georgia State University and the Georgia institute of Technology and a medical doctorate from Emory University in Atlanta.
