Lynn Videka was appointed dean of the School of Social Work at the University of Michigan, effective August 1. Since 2009, she has been dean and a professor at the Silver School of Social Work at New York University. Earlier, Dr. Videka was dean of the School of Social Welfare at the University at Albany of the State University of New York System.
Dr. Videka is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Nursing. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
Jennifer Dennis was promoted to dean of the Graduate School at Oregon State University in Corvallis. She will also hold the title of vice provost. Before coming to Oregon State in 2015 as associate dean of the Graduate School, Dr. Dennis served for 11 years on the faculty of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. There, she held joint appointments in the departments of horticulture and landscape architecture and agricultural economics.
Dr. Dennis holds bachelor’s and master’s degree in horticulture from the University of Illinois. She earned a Ph.D. in horticulture with a minor in marketing and consumer behavior from Michigan State University
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is a national program run by the University of California for the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Science. Dr. Yelick, a computer scientist and longtime UC Berkeley faculty member, will become the laboratory's next director on July 1.
Renée Wachter, chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Superior, has been selected to serve as interim president of the Universities of Wisconsin. Maria Cuzzo, provost of UW-Superior, will serve as the university's interim chancellor while Dr. Wachter assumes her new responsibilities.

Cheryl Norman was appointed president of Ridgewater College in Minnesota and Ellen Kennedy was named interim president of Cape Cod Community College in Massachusetts.
Dr. Scarlatta has led the University of Michigan-Dearbon on an interim basis for the past year. Pending approval from the board of regents, she is slated to become the university's permanent leader on May 22.
The selected candidate should have expertise and experience in theoretical models in labor and public economics as well as in microeconometrics and programming.
