Women With a Higher Level of Education Tend to Change Jobs More Often

BLSNew data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics offers a look at the employment, educational, and marital status of young Americans at the age of 29.

The report shows that 29-year-old women in 2014 had held an average of 7.3 jobs during the 1998 to 2013 period. For 29-year-old men, they held an average of 7.1 jobs.

The average number of jobs held by women increased as they moved up the educational ladder. For 29-year-old women without a high school diploma, they held an average of 5.6 jobs during the 1998 to 2013 period. For similar age women with a four-year college degree, they held an average of 8.0 jobs.

It appears that higher education offers more job opportunities for women enabling them to change jobs more often in search of the right career choice.
