Three Women Among the Four Finalists for Dean of Colorado Law

coloradouniversityThe University of Colorado at Boulder has announced a field of four candidates for the position of dean of its law school. All four finalists will visit campus by mid-March for interviews and public forums. Three of the four finalists are women.

mary_anne_bobinski_nrMary Anne Bobinski is a professor at the Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. She served as dean of the Allard School of Law from 2003 to 2015. Her research focuses on health-related law in Canada and the United States. Professor Bobinski earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a law degree at the University at Buffalo of the State University of New York System. She also earned a master’s degree in law at Harvard University.

laura_gomez_nrLaura Gomez is a professor at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. She holds joint appointments in the UCLA departments of sociology and Chicana/Chicano studies. From 2005 to 2011, Professor Gomez taught at the University of New Mexico. Professor Gomez is a graduate of Harvard University, where she majored in social studies. She holds a master’s degree in sociology, a Ph.D. in sociology, and a law degree, all from Stanford University in California.

angela_onwuachi-willig_nrAngela Onwuachi-Willig is the Charles and Marion J. Kierscht Professor of Law at the University of Iowa College of Law. She joined the faculty at the University of Iowa in 2006. Professor Onwuachi-Willig specializes in family and anti-discrimination law. She is the author of According to Our Hearts: Rhinelander v. Rhinelander and the Law of the Multiracial Family (Yale University Press, 2013). Professor Onwuachi-Willig is a graduate of Grinnell College in Iowa and the University of Michigan Law School. She is a Ph.D. candidate in sociology and African American studies at Yale University.
