Maurie D. McInnis was named the next provost and executive vice president at the University of Texas at Austin. She will begin her new role on July 1. In addition to her role as provost, Dr. McInnis will receive a faculty appointment in the department of American studies in the College of Liberal Arts.
Currently, Dr. McInnis is vice provost for academic affairs and a professor of art history at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Before being named vice provost in 2013, Professor McInnis was associate dean for undergraduate academic programs at the University of Virginia.
With more than 30 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Richtermeyer has spent the past three years as executive vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost at Rutgers University-Camden
Cheryl Norman was appointed president of Ridgewater College in Minnesota and Ellen Kennedy was named interim president of Cape Cod Community College in Massachusetts.
Dr. Scarlatta has led the University of Michigan-Dearbon on an interim basis for the past year. Pending approval from the board of regents, she is slated to become the university's permanent leader on May 22.
Nicole Reaves has been serving as executive vice president and chief programs officer at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, North Carolina. On July 15, she is slated to become the first woman president of Schenectady County Community College within the State University of New York System.
