A New Dean at California State University, Fullerton

johnsonMarie Johnson was named dean of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at California State University, Fullerton. She has been serving as a professor of geology and director of the Environmental Program at the Unites State Military Academy at West Point, New York.

Dr. Johnson’s research focuses on environmental security issues. This interdisciplinary field analyzes how degraded environments lead to chaos, conflict, and violence in the world.

Professor Johnson is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard University. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in geological sciences from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
