Three Women Scholars Named to Endowed Chairs

Christine Jacobs-Wagner was appointed the William H. Fleming, M.D. Professor of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. She has served on the Yale faculty since 2001 and is currently the director of the Microbial Sciences Institute.
Professor Jacobs-Wagner holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Liege in Belgium.
Mary J. Henold was named to the John R. Turbyfill Endowed Chair in History at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia. Professor Henold is the author of Catholic and Feminist: The Surprising History of the American Catholic Feminist Movement (University of North Carolina Press, 2008).
Dr. Henold is a graduate of the University of Detroit, Mercy. She holds a Ph.D. in American history from the University of Rochester.
Anne Brunet is the new Michelle and Timothy Barakett Endowed Professor in genetics at Stanford University. Dr. Brunet joined the faculty at Stanford in 2004 and was promoted to full professor in 2014.
Professor Brunet is a graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Nice in France and was a postgraduate fellow at Harvard Medical School.
