Huda Zoghbi Selected to Receive the Vanderbilt Prize in Biomedical Science

Huda Y. Zoghbi, director of the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute at Texas Children’s Hospital and a professor of molecular and human genetics at the Baylor University College of Medicine in Houston, has been selected to receive the Vanderbilt Prize in Biomedical Science from the Vanderbilt School of Medicine.
As winner of the prize, Dr. Zoghbi receives an honorarium, delivers the Flexner Discovery Lecture in April in Nashville, and mentors women who are pursuing graduate studies in biomedical sciences at the Vanderbilt School of Medicine.
A native of Lebanon, Dr. Zoghbi received her medical training at the American University of Beirut and Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. She joined the faculty at the Baylor College of Medicine in 1988.
