New Administrative Appointments for Eight Women in Higher Education

Meriah Heredia-Griego was promoted to director of the Center for Education Policy Research at the University of New Mexico. She was the associate director and a research assistant professor at the center.

Dr. Heredia-Griego holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and a master’s degree in community and regional planning from the University of New Mexico. She earned a doctorate in higher education administration and policy at Colorado State University.

Raechelle Clemmons was appointed chief information officer at Davidson College in North Carolina, effective February 29, 2016. She has been serving as vice president and chief information officer at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin.

Clemmons holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from California State University, East Bay in Hayward.

Rebecca A. Dunham was named curator of collections and exhibitions at the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art at Utah State University. She was the curator of the Plains Art Museum in Fargo, North Dakota.

Dr. Dunham is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She holds a master’s degree in art history from the University of Florida and a Ph.D. in art history and classical archaeology from the University of Missouri.

Mary Berry is the new vice president for research at the University of South Dakota. She has served in the post on an interim basis for the past year. Dr. Berry has been a member of the chemistry department faculty at the university since 1990.

Professor Berry is a graduate of the College of Charleston in South Carolina. She holds a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Virginia.

Ellen Eardley was appointed as the inaugural director of the Office for Civil Rights & Title IX at the University of Missouri. She was assistant vice provost and the Title IX administrator at the university. Before joining the staff at the university earlier this year, Eardley was a partner at the Mehri & Skalet law firm in Washington, D.C.

Eardley received a bachelor’s degree in English from Eastern Illinois University and a master’s degree in women’s studies and a law degree from the University of Cincinnati.

Lucy Rolfe was promoted to assistant director of recruitment at the Graduate School of Business of the University of Arkansas. She was an admissions analysts at the school.

Rolfe is graduate of Central Washington University in Ellensburg, where she majored in music. She is scheduled to receive a master’s degree in education from the University of Arkansas in May 2016.

Nicole Whitehead was named director of human resources and community engagement at Sweet Briar College in Virginia, effective January 1. She has been serving as a human resources and organizational development officer  at Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory, North Carolina.

Whitehead holds a bachelor’s degree in business and an MBA from Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois. She is completing work on an educational doctorate at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois.

Theresa Mayer was appointed vice president for research and innovation at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She has been serving as associate dean for research and innovation for the College of Engineering at Pennsylvania State University.

Dr. Mayer holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
