Eva Tardos, the Jacob Gould Schurman Professor of Computer Science at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, has been named editor-in-chief of the Journal of the Association for Computing Machinery. The Association for Computing Machinery was founded in 1947 and its journal is considered one of the most prestigious in the field of computer science.
Dr. Tardos has been on the faculty at Cornell University since 1989. She previously taught at the University of California, Berkeley and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Professor Tardos earned a Ph.D. at Eötvös University in Budapest, Hungary.
Susan Colley, the Andrew and Pauline Delaney Professor of Mathematics at Oberlin College in Ohio, has been named editor-elect of the Mathematical Association of America Monthly. She will serve for one year as editor-elect and then a five-year term as editor. While serving as editor, Professor Colley will remain on the Oberlin College faculty but will have a reduced teaching load.
