Eileen Boris Elected President of the International Federation for Research in Women’s History

Eileen Boris, the Hull Professor of Feminist Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, has been elected president of the International Federation for Research in Women’s History. Professor Boris is the first American to be elected president of the federation. She will serve a five-year term as president of the international organization of women’s history associations.
Professor Boris is the author or editor of several books including Caring for America: Home Health Workers in the Shadow of the Welfare State (Oxford University Press, 2012). The book received that Sara A. Whaley Prize from the National Women’s Studies Association.
Dr. Boris is a summa cum laude graduate of Boston University. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in American civilization from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
