Four Women Scholars Appointed to Endowed Chairs

angela-wilson_lgAngela K. Wilson was named the Hannah Professor of Chemistry at Michigan State University. She will join the faculty at Michigan State in February. Professor Wilson is spending the fall semester as director of the division of chemistry at the National Science Foundation. She was a Regents Professor at the University of North Texas.

Dr. Wilson is a graduate of Eastern Washington University in Cheney. She holds a Ph.D. in chemical physics from the University of Minnesota.

zeanahpwPaula Zeanah was appointed to the Lafayette General Medical Center/Our Lady of the Lake Endowed Nursing Chair at the University of Louisiana Lafayette. She was also named director of research at the Picard Center for Child Development and Lifelong Learning at the university. Dr. Zeenah was a professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Tulane University in New Orleans.

Professor Zeanah is a nursing graduate of the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She holds a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Connecticut.

snyderJanet E. Snyder was named the J. Bernard Schultz Endowed Professor in Art in the School of Art and Design at West Virginia University. She joined the faculty at the university in 1997. Professor Snyder is the author of Early Gothic Column-Figure Sculpture in France: Appearance, Materials, and Significance (Ashgate Publishing, 2011).

Professor Snyder is a graduate of Wichita State University in Kansas. She holds a master of fine arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in art history from Columbia University in New York City.

rezacMary Rezac is the inaugural holder of the Tim Taylor Chair in Chemical Engineering at Kansas State University. She is a professor of chemical engineering and the co-founding director of the Center for Sustainable Energy at the university. Professor Rezac joined the faculty nearly 13 years ago.

Dr. Rezac is a graduate of Kansas State University. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
