Mary Leigh Wolfe, professor and chair of the department of biological systems engineering at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, is the new president of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers. “I am honored to serve as president of ASABE, an organization whose members are dedicated to making food, water, and energy systems sustainable and secure and to improving and maintaining the quality of the environment,” Dr. Wolfe said.
Professor Wolfe has chaired the department of biological systems engineering at Virgina Tech since 2011. She joined the faculty at the university in 1992. Her research focuses on hydrology and watershed management issues.
Dr. Wolfe holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Virginia Tech and a Ph.D. in agricultural engineering from the University of Minnesota.
