Two Women Scholars Announce Their Retirements

jeanneStrangelJeanne Stangel, the vice chancellor for university advancement and president of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Foundation, is stepping down to take a new post at Notre Dame de la Baie Academy in Green Bay. She will serve as vice president for institutional advancement and director of athletics at the Catholic high school.

Stangel joined the fundraising staff at the university in 2012 after serving as associate athletics director. She is a 1987 graduate of the university with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

schenkMaryjean Schenk has resigned as vice dean for medical education at the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. Dr. Schenk stated that she was leaving for personal reasons. She has been on the faculty at the medical school since 1991.

Dr. Schenk is a graduate of Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan, where she majored in chemistry. She earned her medical degree at Wayne State University and later earned a master of public health degree and a master’s degree in industrial health from the University of Michigan.
