Four Women Appointed to New Faculty Posts

Mary-DriscollMary Erina Driscoll was appointed to the Harold Kobliner Chair in Education at the City University of New York. Since 2012, Professor Driscoll has served as dean of the School of Education at the university.

Dr. Driscoll is a magna cum laude graduate of Connecticut College. She holds a master’s degree from Sarah Lawrence College and a Ph.D. in administration from the University of Chicago.

burchSusan Burch was promoted to full professor of American studies at Middlebury College in Vermont. There, she also serves as director of the Center for the Comparative Study of Race and Ethnicity.

Professor Burch is a graduate of Colorado College, where she majored in history and Soviet studies. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in American and Soviet history from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

emilie-hafnerEmilie M. Hafner-Burton was appointed to the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation Chair in International Justice and Human Rights at the University of California, San Diego. She is the author of Making Human Rights a Reality (Princeton University Press, 2013).

Professor Hafner-Burton is a summa cum laude graduate of Seattle University. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Wisconsin.

lucyHodderLucy Hodder was appointed professor of law and director of health law and policy programs at the University of New Hampshire. Since 2013, Professor Hodder has been legal counselor for New Hampshire Governor Maggie Hassan.

Professor Hodder is a graduate of Princeton University and the Georgetown University Law Center.
