New High-Level Administrative Posts in Higher Education for Five Women

rumala-pro-croppedBernice B. Rumala was appointed director of the Ph.D. program in health sciences at Trident University in Cypress, California. She was the interim research director at Mentoring in Medicine in New York City.

Dr. Rumala is a graduate of the Excelsior College of the State University of New York. She holds three master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in health equity focus from Columbia University in New York City.

Heather-CostelloHeather Costello was named operations manager at McCrory Gardens of South Dakota State University. She will manage the McCrory Gardens Education and Visitor Center and botanical gardens.

Previously, Costello served as an event coordinator for the university and was the facility manager for the Performing Arts Center at South Dakota State University.

Bethany J Bodo, Associate Director, Office of Assessment and Evaluation.Bethany Bodo was appointed associate director of the Office of Assessment and Evaluation at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. For the past 12 years, she served on the staff at Radford University in Virginia. Most recently, she was director of academic assessment.

Bodo is a graduate of Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania, where she double majored in psychology and government and law. She holds a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Virginia Tech.

RegjoKathryn Regjo was named vice president of Colorado Mountain College in Edwards. She has been serving as president of Lincoln College in Southington, Connecticut. She will begin her new job on March 1.

Dr. Regjo is a graduate of Adrian College in Michigan, where she majored in international business and German. She holds an MBA from the University of Denver and an educational doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.

ritawaltersRita Walters was appointed vice president for advancement at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. She was the chief development officer for the Washington National Cathedral. Previously, she served as senior associate director of development for the School of Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

Walters is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey. She earned a master’s degree at Johns Hopkins University.
