
The University of Illinois is leading a consortium of universities that received a $7 million grant from the U.S. Agency for International Development to support women in agriculture around the world. The project is named “Integrating Gender and Nutrition Within Agricultural Extension Services.” Among the other participants in the consortium are the University of Florida and the University of California, Davis.
Smith College, the highly rated liberal arts college for women in Northampton, Massachusetts, received a $100,000 grant from the Hearst Foundation to support the college’s Achieving Excellence in Mathematics, Engineering, and Sciences programs. The grant will fund research fellowships for Smith students and peer mentoring support programs.
